Out and About

It's been pretty nice this week so we've been trying to get out and busy ourselves.
Took Calum on a walk that should have taken 20 minutes round trip, but I decided to bring his little bike that I push. This was not my brightest idea. Calum controls the steering so I was constantly having to stop us from going into the road. He also wasn't very content to keep his feet on the pegs so I would run him over ever minute or so. Not only that but Calum wanted to get off and walk which turned into him sitting on the ground multiple times throughout our walk. Haha. So our walk took us an hour instead of the expected 20 minutes. I was exhausted.

Went to the park with dad. (Brought the stroller this time) Kevin and Calum had fun chasing after balls, I ended up sitting in the stroller and watching :) I felt pretty awesome. But these two boys sure are cute!

We went to the zoo with some friends. This was the first time we have gone where Calum was actually pretty excited about all the animals. He'd say their names, and make the noises. It was pretty cute.  Since we've gone, whenever we ask Calum about ANYTHING he says starts talking about monkeys.
"Calum, come on lets go to nursery."
 "A Monkeys..."
"What did you do today Calum?"
"A Monkeys..."
Apparently he liked the monkeys. They were being pretty silly. A couple of them were throwing a ball to each other. One was dancing for Calum. One had a baby it was carrying around. Pretty memorable :)

On a colder night we went to Little Monkey Bizness with the other Foulgers. Calum loved it and was sad when it was time to go.

The weather finally decided to act like winter last night and Calum had a blast stomping around in the snow this morning. Seriously couldn't get enough. Can't wait till he wakes up from his nap. We are going to make a snowman!

This looks like all we do is go out and play, but in reality most of my days are spent on the couch. I am trying to be a little productive and focus on something other than feeling sick. So I am attempting to take up crocheting. This is the start of my rag rug. Pretty proud of myself. Don't hate.

Calum is too much fun. I love going on outings with him (even if they end up taking 3x as long as intended). He makes everything so fun. He's getting really smart too. He knows the words to a lot of songs and will even say the line that comes next in his books! He's crazy. Always keeping us on our toes.

The Weekend Off

I had the weekend off this week :) Kevin flew out to Utah to go to his friends wedding and the day before we decided it would be fun to send this cute kid (who has been on average taking 2 1/2-3 hour naps each day! Hallelujah!) with him for a surprise visit!

So we stuffed him in a carry on :)

And sent them on their way!

I think Kevin really liked the one on one time with Calum. And Grandma and Grandpa were just thrilled!

Kevin had a blast seeing friends and was really glad he got to be there for Brad and Miriam's wedding.

I kind of didn't know what to do with myself with all my free time. I watched a lot of chick flicks, prepared not only my lesson for Sunday, but Kevin's as well and I got in a lot of much needed relaxation:)
I also partied it up a bit at this cute girls Fiesta!!

Maybe a little too much in fact :)

I was really glad when my boys came home. We reenacted the fiesta for Calum since he was sad he missed it.

Calum also got a surprise!! He clearly doesn't know what they are for yet since he thought the undies were hats and the toilet seat was a necklace :) But he's really excited about it! Hopefully in the next few months I'll be feeling up to the task of potty training. I think he's getting ready. It would sure be nice to have him out of diapers by the time baby number two comes along :)

Grandma also sent a surprise home with him. A little fort :) He likes climbing in and out of it. Too fun. Thanks grandma for the awesome fort and the fun weekend! Every time I turn on the computer he thinks we are going to Skype with you guys. He must miss you :)

It was a nice break for me to not have mommy duties. But I am so glad to have my little buddy back! He makes me so happy :) I like Kevin too :)

An Attitude of Gratitute

I threw up on the side of the road this morning. That's always a great way to start the day! Yup this baby is definitely in there all right. I'm trying to focus on the good in my life instead of the fact that I hate being pregnant! So so grateful that I'm able to be pregnant and have another baby on the way, but I am not one of those people who love being pregnant. I wish I was, but I'm not. So this is my post of Thanksgiving to remind me how awesome my life is and that I can do this!
I'm grateful for my feeling sick since that means that all is well with the baby.
I'm grateful for my husband who works so hard and comes home only to take care of me, love me and pick up my slack.
I'm grateful for Calum, because even though he feels the need to constantly jump on me and "tackle" me he is happy and easy going which is definitely what I need right now. Not to mention what a ham he is, and that he can always make me laugh. Video1 Video2
I'm grateful for my friends who are always going out of their way to help me out and to give me the extra nudge I need to get myself out of the house. Whether it be a date night, girls night, an outing to McDonald's PlayPlace or just getting together to watch the bachelor. It is always better to be out of the house and distracted when I'm feeling sick rather than sitting at home and moping about it (which I still do a lot).
Grateful for pregnant women who have come before me. Because when I hear their stories it reminds me that this is normal, that it's ok to feel like this and lets be honest, that I have got it easy in comparison.
Mostly I'm thankful to everyone who has looked upon the ghastly sight which is me and not mentioned how atrocious I look :) I go days without putting on a smidge of makeup!
Basically I feel like a huge bum and I am grateful to everyone who helps me to feel like a normal person!
These two are the best distraction. Calum breaking in his new fishing pole with his dad. They are too cute.

Can't Keep a Secret

Ok guys. I'm no good at keeping secrets. And I don't know how to go on week after week lying to ALL of my blog followers, and not truly tell you what is going on week in and week out :) So I'm going to give you a few hints.
This has been my diet the past few weeks.

My house is a disaster and that is fine with me. (Any guesses yet??)

Calum wore this shirt to our family Christmas party.

Here's a close up.

And if you haven't figured it out yet...

That's right people. Baby number two is on it's way! Due to arrive August 24 :)
Remember a few weeks back when I didn't end up getting my wrist surgery?? Well I went in to have surgery and they had me take a routine pregnancy test. I got admitted into my room and started to put on my gown when the nurse came in and said. "Kinzie, stop getting dressed, you're pregnant!" Kind of a crazy way to find out. I was only about 3 weeks along so it was a huge shock to me. Kevin wasn't even at the hospital yet so I decided to surprise him at home. When I walked in the door he was really confused to see me since I was supposed to be getting ready for surgery. I just said "I'm pregnant!" We are really excited!
I've been feeling pregnant but not as bad as I felt with Calum. Just moodier, girl perhaps?? I've been super lazy and feeling guilty that Calum hasn't gotten out more.
So Calum has been practicing his dare devil skills inside :) We call him Rod.

It was nice and sunny yesterday so we went to the park. Calum was in heaven. 60 degrees and no need for a jacket! Love that Colorado sunshine!

So now you know. Whew such a relief to get that off my chest :)

I Did It!

I'm not going to lie, I am pretty proud of myself. I kept my New Years resolution from last year and was pretty diligent in blogging this year. Sometimes the posts we later or shorter than I'd wanted but I did what I could and am so glad I have this to look back on :) Calum has grown so much this year it's crazy! It makes me sad that most of our loved ones live far away and don't get to see his cuteness everyday, so I hope this Blog has helped to keep you updated.
We've been getting back into the swing of things here at home. Calum's had lots of fun playing with his new toys.

Being Tarzan. He woke up from a nap like this, I don't know what happened. Haha.

And discovering new hiding places.

We're glad to have our one on one time back with this cutie.

We rang in the New Year with some of our friends. We played games.

And lit off Kevin's fireworks he purchased in Wyoming with his Christmas money.

It was quite the show. The cops did show up and tell us to stop. We wished them a happy new year and they let us keep the remainder of our fireworks. :)

I am so grateful for this past year. We have made so many amazing friends and have grown as a family. We are so blessed and can't imagine my life being any other way. Hope you all have a Happy New Year!
