So we decided to get a new car. I decided his name would be Marvin. The trouble was actually figuring out which car was meant to be Marvelous Marv. We searched high and low, and test drove many a vehicle. Calum was a trooper while we drug him here and there.
Except that one time he stuck his gum in his hair.
Kevin was skeptical of the peanut butter trick but it worked like a charm.
We met some really nice people, and some really intense salesmen. One of which yelled at us as we went to head home, "Stop the madness! Let me sell you a car!" It was quite the experience. We thought we were going to get one, went to the dealership and it was sold. Kevin took a half day another day so we could drive up to Loveland to get a car, but we found out it was only front wheel drive so we decided not to make the trip. We almost bought another car. Even made a trip to the bank to get A LOT of cash out. Kevin sold his truck the same day (Yahoo!) so I was certain I was going to get robbed before I put all the cash into our checking account. We watched a bank robber movie the night before, so I was all sweaty while the teller counted my money, I just knew someone was going to pull a gun on us.
We took the car to our mechanic to get it checked out and when we came back to the dealership the salesman told us that the odometer wasn't correct and that it could have anywhere from 80K to 180K miles.... Seemed like a big difference to us and we decided not to get it. Needless to say, our week was busy and kind of frustrating. I still didn't have a car. So we spent lots of time snuggling at home, taking cute pictures of Ailee and attempting to keep Calum from destroying the house.
I walked to the park one day to meet some friends, five minutes after we got there Calum had a meltdown, sat in his stroller and begged for me to take him home for a nap. Another day a friend picked us up and took us to the park, which would have been awesome, except that the only thing my BOY wanted to do was hit the icy water with a stick. I couldn't keep him away, he kept going back to the frozen edge and getting way too close for comfort. It was not relaxing. Haha. He had fun though.
At one point we drowned our sorrows with some beef from Texas Roadhouse. Another day I think Kevin sensed that I was losing it, so he took a personal day to help me out, and we took Calum to the zoo. I sure love Kevin.
The Marv Mobile just didn't seem to be around. Where was he hiding?
We finally found him Saturday evening at a lovely dealership in Colorado Springs. I wrote a check with the most zeros I have ever written, turned on the cruise control (Hallelujah) and rocked out all the way home.
I love him so much! Reminds me of my high school days when I drove the Outback that my friends lovingly termed the "Mom Car." Now it's official, I have a mom car. The Marvster, and I am so excited to have him! Welcome to the family Marvin Freestyle Foulger!
