Lucky Number 8!

Kevin and me have been married for eight whole years! That's wild. My parents took the kids Friday night, Kevin and me got some legit Pho, which was delicious on a cold night and then went and saw Fantastic Beast! It was pretty much a dream come true. I wish I weren't a No-Maj. Happy Anniversary Kevin, my Fantastic Beast! :D

Miles is becoming more shy. He likes to do this pouty face. Calum and him got that lip thing down.

He still likes to growl. He was just chasing Kevin around and growling at him like a little bear. He is so fun.

Calum's Orage paper. Kevin asked him if this was a BSU Bronco or a Denver Bronco. He said Denver. Kevin was happy. Then Calum said, "Mrs Winslow told me I had to do a Bronco, she likes Broncos so she made me." Haha.

 Kevin got some free tickets to a snowmobile expo. So we went and checked out the sleds. 

Calum was so excited that his picture of the temple was featured on our program at church.

He also was pretty proud of this weapon he created!!! Oh. My. Gosh! That is a serious weapon. I don't know what Calum was talking about the other day but he said, "It's faster than a lion, cheetah, Barkley, anything!" Barkley is Kelli's dog, which Ailee is scared of. She doesn't like to go to Kelli's anymore, I have to convince her to go. She usually just stays home and is my little shadow. She's a cute little shadow though.

Yesterday was our actually anniversary and we spent it traveling to Utah. We stopped to eat and I had to wake Calum up. He put on his coat upside down and couldn't figure out what the deal was. It was funny. So glad Kevin is mine and I get to experience this crazy life with him!

Too Busy for Pictures

I know I usually say, "where the heck did the week go?" But Seriously... Where did it go? I don't even have any pictures to remind me what we did this week. Strange. It's cold out and I think we've mostly just hung out inside. Lets see... We took Calum to the Warren Miller ski movie last week. When it got over he said, "I almost peed my pants." I told him I could've taken him to the bathroom. He said he didn't want to go because he didn't want to miss any of the movie. Haha. Must be Kevin son. I spent a lot of time organizing pictures and what not. I babysat at the gym. Ailee picked Calum up from Kindergarten, ha, but really I jumped out to get him and she had climbed up and gotten buckled. We went to Costco one day while Calum played at Kysons. Kelli and me swapped our kids back and forth. Activity Days, Mammaw got a little wild with the whipped creme. We made felt hair clips. Ailee requested a unicorn and a donut hair clip. Calum thought Miles looked like Minion one day because he was wearing overalls. Calum also thought it would be funny to put Miles poopy diaper under my pillow so when I laid down it would be stinky. I found it before it had been there for too long. Miles still doesn't like going to bed at night, but he does like to cover his face with a blankie which is cute, and he has been liking Kevin singing him Bob Marley. Seems like thats the only thing that'll do the trick. Kevin helped out at Calum's Thanksgiving Feast today. Calum was happy he went.  He is excited to use his new placemat. So pretty standard week.  

I love the picture of our little family. He even said, "Mom we make a pattern!" Cute little smarty.

Apparently I was too busy to take any pictures though, I actually feel like this week was pretty mellow. It's been kind of nice just puzzling and reading books with the kiddos. I sure love them.

The Struggle of Daylight Savings

Daylight savings is hard. You'd think one hour wouldn't change much but it is a serious struggle. My kids usually sleep in tip 730 or 8, but they have woken up before 6 multiple times this week. Then they are tired and grumpy all day and want to go to bed early. I was sorting laundry and Ailee went missing. I couldn't find her anywhere. The doors were all locked so I knew she hadn't gone outside. I looked in all the beds and all her usual hiding places. I knew she was around here somewhere but old feelings of having lost her before were starting to creep in. Finally I thought to look in our hutch, and there she was, fast asleep at 530pm! I moved her to her bed and she slept all night.

Ailee had another cry til she passes out episode this week after she tripped and fell on her face at the gym. It is always so scary and just wipes her out. Our pediatrician has told us that that is not an uncommon thing and that she should grow out of it. But it is still a little terrifying.

I met my friend Aryn for lunch and Ailee decided to rearrange all the patio furniture. Ha.

Ailee also got to run some errands with Kevin and they went out to eat at Merritts. Ailee told Kevin, "You can kiss me on our date. If you want to kiss me on our date you have to." She's obsessed with kisses lately. Haha. She always tells Kevin to kiss me, "Kiss mom! Kiss, Kiss, Kiss!" I don't know where she's gotten that from. Such a girl. 

She wanted a bigger scone. Ha!

This cracked me up. Pictures of Ailee from each of our dates. Haha. What a nut. Also I've decided Ailee is Fancy Nancy. Have you read those books? You should. The little girl in it is the cutest and is always dressed up "Fancy." I think the series was inspired by Ailee. She knows exactly what she wants to wear every day, and there is no talking her out of it. So I've just come to embrace it and let her be her fancy, expressive, stubborn self. Some of her favorite ensembles include, pink, all stripes, all black or cheetah print (she calls herself the black cheetah). And I don't know why she feels the need to put hats over her face during pictures. Maybe she is sick of the paparazzi.

 Miles is still just as cute as ever. He has decided to sleep terribly too. He fights going to bed every night now. Screams in his crib. He has never done that. I'm blaming daylight savings. He loves wearing our shoes, will try and repeat words and animal noises. He's too big.

I got the organizing bug and decided to sort and label everything in my house. I did my linen closet and my embroidery floss too. Haha.

 I'm the "Art mom" for Calum's class. I get to go in every couple weeks and help them do an art project. It's been pretty fun. This week we made these giant turkeys, they are as big as the kids!

I think daylight savings has been hardest on this kid though. Soooooo grumpy and whiney and talking back. I love him so much but he is so hard!! Prayers appreciated.

 I am so sick of Facebook. People are so negative. Buh. But I really loved this these posts from Greta Lausch and just thought I'd share cause that's how I feel-

Tues: "When I left the polls just a few minutes ago, I burst into tears. We are making history! And although I'm not thrilled with the choices we were given this time around, it is important that we stay true to our convictions & use the voices we're so privileged to have. Here's to new beginnings -- one's we love & one's that make us frustrated, because there's always something really special about a new beginning if we look hard enough!"

Wed- "God's not finished with America yet. Instead of being angry with the outcome, let's ask God what He might be asking of His people during this crucial time in our country. Let's join Him in whatever He plans to do to restore, reconcile & rebuild. Let's jump on his bandwagon. Let's treat Him as what He is -- our Alpha & Omega. God reigns in the end -- He will never leave His thrown. God is not throne off by this election. He's not in Heaven thinking, "well, shoot, what am I going to do now?" God's not confused. He would've worked in tremendous ways despite the winner of last night's election. Let's rest in the truth that we serve a God that's bigger, kinder, more consistent, full of love, who does not abandon because of race, political stance, sexual orientation, etc. We serve a God who, ultimately, loves unconditionally. If you are fearful of the future of our country, I challenge you to put your hope The Unchanging God. Not our government, not in moving to a far away country... rest your hope in The God who knows you inside & out & who wants to spend eternity with you. Let's be kind today." 

Kevin has said it over and over during this election. They can do whatever they want in Washington but what matters most is happening in our homes! 

Sleeping Beauty

What a whirlwind this week has been. Sorry for the delay. Our weekend plans didn't go exactly to plan. Miles decided to get the Barfs thursday night, so Ailee and Calum went to Heather and Greg's trunk or treat with my mom. My mom almost talked me into going with Miles (he hadn't thrown up all day) so I threw on this lovely costume buckled Mile's into the carseat and he threw up again. Poor guy. Ailee wanted to wear my nieces Cinderella costume, she put it on at the party and no one got a picture of her. Bummer. But Calum was pretty pumped on his cobra ninja outfit. 

Miles laid around the house the next day. He had a little fever and was just tuckered out. He did try to plug in a phone charge into his belly button. He just kept trying to plug it in and it wasn't quite working. He is so cute.

My parents watched him while I took the kids to the Thueson's for soup and pumpkin carving. It was fun. We used a dremmel  to carve some of them. Kevin even showed up after a bit.

 

Miles was still not his old self on Sunday and finally got feeling better Monday. We had a fun halloween. We went trick or treating around our block, then went to Mammaw and Papa's for hotdogs. Then we trick or treated around their block. I think the kids actually had the most fun handing out candy. Cuties.

 I always want to do a family theme. I'm pretending that we did it this year. Just pretend the cobra ninja was Maleficants dragon, and that a duck was one of the forest animals in Sleeping Beauty. Haha. I did get my make up all on, and then Ailee told me she wanted to be Elsa, I was like.... no, you need to be sleeping beauty so mine and dad's costumes make sense. Haha. I finally convinced her.

Happy Halloween

I had to get the draws done this week as well as activity days, which didn't take too much planning because we took them to go see the BFG at the cheap theatre. I loved the book when I was little but kind of forgot about it. Ailee was a little scared but I think they liked it. It was a Whizpopper!

Calum didn't have school after Tuesday because of  parent teacher conferences. He was so excited to get to "spend time with me." He kept wanting snuggles and would give me butterfly and eskimo kisses. He really is the cutest. He also really wanted to me to copy out of this hunting book. Ha. I wrote my own note. I felt like I was on the little Rascals, "Dear Darla, I hate your stinkin guts."

His teacher said he's doing well academically. So thats good. He is still kind of a ninnymuggins though. But that was no shock to me. It did make me laugh though she said he wears his big snow coat in class. Haha. He refuses to wear anything but a t-shirt and shorts and his giant snow coat. What a spaz. He had some good comments this week. He was showing Ailee how to make root beer. They filled up a cup of water and then headed outside, Calum was telling her, "We just have to put roots in it." Haha. He also was telling Ailee who one the race, "I got one-th place and you got two-th place." Seems like it should work right? Ha. Last one, someone was asking him who his teacher was, "Mrs Winslow, and her sidekick is Mrs. S." (Mrs S is the class aid. haha)

They "helped" me rake leave, by riding their bikes threw the piles I was making. Calum even went and grabbed a pile from the neighbors and threw it into our driveway. Took a while but they had fun. And actually were playing super well together. 

Ruby Richards was in town so she came to play. And my long lost friend Bree paid me a visit. It was so fun seeing her. I haven't seen her in over a decade!! Where does time go?!

I helped my friends little girl sew her own Halloween costume. She was a Shopkins doll. It turned out cute. Eva is quite the seamstress.

I painted these signs for my cousin Mieko's Glambash that she had on Saturday. I thought they turned out cute. Brought me back to my sign making days at good old CHS.

Friday we decided to drive out to Oregon to visit Kevin. I still can't believe he drives out there everyday!! He is my hero. The kids love being out on the farms, and they love spending time with their dad even more. They were in heaven.

Last night Kevin and I went paint balling with some other couples. We had way too much fun. Only a few welts today. Haha.

This week didn't slow down, as you can tell by my awesome do. I am clearly no sleeping beauty. Ha. And now Calum seems to have a little fever. Darn it. But.... Kevin is pretty much done with harvest! Hip hip hooray!! So he'll be back to his usual schedule. We are all so happy to have him back.
