Figuring It Out

Calum playing with his toys, "-Yoshi, you did a great job killing the bug today.
-Thank you."
He has been so fun playing pretend lately, it crack me up.
Him and Liam being bats. How do they come up with these things?

We went to a birthday party for our buddy Thomas. I looked over and Ailee was chowing down on basically an entire piece of cake that she found on the floor. Haha. She is all about eating stuff off the ground lately.

She couldn't get enough of the rocks and dirt when we went up to the Golden Farmers market. We played in the river and she was none stop putting the filth in her mouth!! Whhhhyyy??? Her dirty mug. Haha. And Calum enjoying his Ninja Turtle popsicle!

The water was freeeeezing. But that didn't stop these kids!

Goofy kids in their "hide out"

Darcie competed in the National Weightlifting competition!! She's so awesome. She finished 20th and we were so glad we were able to watch her compete. She is seriously so awesome, we're so proud of her.

We went to the Speedway and had fun watching "Lightening McQueen." Haha.

We got to check out the cars after and go out on the track. Calum loved it! He had way too many treats and was kind of being a wild man. Haha.

Ailee helping out around the house.

She always tries to put clothes on. She was so funny with this onesie. She would put it on her head and then play, when it fell off she would put it back on and keep on playing. Haha. This went on for a while. Haha.

She was mad when I wouldn't give her the phone.

Calum fell asleep on the floor at 6pm one night. We debated waking him up or seeing if he would be down for the night. We decided to put him in bed. Ailee went down probably a half hour later. We were so excited to have the night off!!

Too good to be true. Yup! They ended up waking up at 9pm!!!!! Ahhh. They were up for a while but we tried to make the best of it. Haha.

I went to dinner for a baby shower one night and Kevin took the kiddos bowling with the dads. Looks like they had fun. I guess it took Ailee a while to get used to all the loud noises there, but they gave her some french fries and she mellowed out. Haha

Future dentist. She is obsessed with everyones mouths and always tries to put her hands in and touch their teeth. Haha.

Playing in their favorite spot.

This was how we found Calum one morning. Haha.

We were going to go swimming but decided to get in the tub instead. Haha. It was pretty hilarious. He was playing with a bug that he randomly named Rippy Toots, and it was making me laugh so hard every time he would say it. Calum thought it was pretty fun and now he asks me daily to get in the tub with him. Haha.

Smoothie Stashes

 How cute is this girl?

I've been trying to not get frustrated with all the stuff that I need to get done and don't get accomplished on a day to day. I've been trying to play and let loose a little more. Am I perfect? No. Does the bathroom need to be cleaned? Yes. What about laundry and dishes and dinner? Yes, Yes, Yes. Does all this stuff overwhelm me and give me a headache? Yes. But did I get in the tub with my kids instead of cleaning the bathroom? Yes. Was it totally worth it? Yes. My point is, I realized I need to balance my life, enjoy my kids and stress less about all the things that need to get done. I complained to Kevin that I feel like I don't have this whole motherhood thing figured out. He laughed and said, "I bet if you ask any mother they wouldn't say they had motherhood figured out." Wise Kevin. That's why I love him. He keeps my head on straight and reminds me whats important. So here's to another week of trying to figure it out! Wish me luck :)

Follow the Leader

How is it Thursday already? I have no idea. The days are getting away from me.
Sooo, I think Ailee's most favorite person is Calum. She follows him everywhere and watches him all the time. Even when we are driving she is always just staring at Calum, probably just seeing what crazy thing he'll do next!

Calum gets a little bothered sometimes that she's getting him or his toys or what not, but he's usually a pretty good sport. Ailee however is an even better sport, because pretty sure Calum picks on her way more often.

Not even phased

Trying to be just like brother :) She loved these so much. Haha.

Already scoping out hiding places for hide and seek. (This is her favorite place lately)

Learning to be a good climber like brother.

Making messes like brother.
Likes books like her brother.

And even had to go and get sick like her brother.

Remember Calum was sick, well a few days later Ailee got the same thing. Darn it. But at least it was a quick bug so we still got to get out and do some fun things.
We played in the water at Belleview Park and rode the train a couple times :)

Kevin and me floated the river by our house. Some ominous clouds rolled in right as we were about to go so we didn't float as far as we were initially planning, that and my tube had three leaks that Kevin and me had to hold as we floated! But it was really fun, and even had a couple good rapids. I didn't even know you could float that until we went with the youth in the ward a few weeks ago. We will for sure have to go again, once we have fixed the leaks in my tube!

Kevin and his crew were busy for the last week of the temple shut down.

Me and the kids went to Chik-fil-a two days in a row! Haha. The first day we met a friend. Then Friday was Cow Appreciation Day and if you dressed up like a cow you got a free meal!!! So of course we had to go.

Ailee was a little scared of the cow mascots.

It also happened to be 7-11 day so we swung by and got some free slurpees too :) Heck of a day.

On Saturday we stopped by a Jeep show. I'm not really sure what it was but Kevin wanted to go check it out. Calum of course loved it.

Then we stopped by the candy factory, missed the tour by 15 minutes, so that was a bummer. But we did purchase some scrumptious candy. Calum's candy of choice was a gummy hot dog. Haha. What a nut.

The night was still young so we decided to stop by Bear Creek Park and let Calum burn some energy.  Lately this kid has been a nut. I mean he's always been a nut but he is extra wild and sassy these days.   (Maybe it's the soda he sneaks) Especially if we stay home all day. He constantly talks back and won't obey or listen at all!!!! It is so frustrating. But if I take him out he burns some energy he is seriously so great. It's wild. So I've been trying to get out a lot with him lately, for both our sakes.

Sliding down the Cowboy's hat. It's really speedy. I love this series of pictures so much!

These two are caaute!

Kevin was a little excited that Germany won the World Cup :) Calum wants to play soccer now.

Ailee is 11 months now! She has two teeth, jabbers and has an ear piercing squeal that she likes to show off from time to time. She also really likes to play wind instruments. #childprodigy

We got our teeth cleaned.

And played at the splash pad. Also with ominous clouds above, but they didn't bother Calum, he kept running in the water then coming and getting warm in the towel, then running back in the water and so on and so on. He was making me laugh watching him.

Of course I sewed some stuff. This dress and these leggings. What else is there to do when you are homebound with sick babies?

Calum has gotten pretty good at building stuff.
He named this guy Concrete.

and I had some serious deja vu. Hahaha.

So there ya go. Hopefully Ailee will start to rub off on Calum a little too and he will sit peacefully watching the rain...

Doubt it though. Twice this week he stripped down to his birthday suit to go play in the water feature in out friends back yards. This was the aftermath, tuckered out with no dry shirt. Thats how summer should be right?
