This week was eventful. We went boating with my parents. We had a fun time until I realized that my phone had gone overboard. Darn it. A Few days later Miles pulled my glasses off my face, gave em a good shake and they broke. Darn it. I also swore that Calum had gone deaf. Last week he complained that his ear hurt a few different times. But it never really seemed to be infected and he said it was fine. So I kind of forgot about it. But all last week he kept saying "What?" after just about everything I said. I would also tell him to something like, "Will you go get your shoes on?" and he would say something like, "You want me to eat my food?" He kept doing this. I swore his ears were plugged or something. So I took him to the doctor. His ears looked great and he passed the hearing test. So Now I'm thinking he's just in his own world and has selective hearing. It's kind of driving me crazy though. Anything I tell him, "What?" Grr. Ailee has been telling me, "Thats why." Whenever I ask her anything. ME-"What is that?" Her-"Thats why." ME-"You can't where that." Her-"Thats why." ME-"why'd you do that?" Her-"That's why." It drives me nuts! Ailee does balance it out though because she is super polite. She says "Thank you" and "You're welcome" all the time. Its the cutest. She also was pretend pooting on everything the other day. Haha. She'd stick her bum out and go "Prrrp." Not so polite. Haha. I tried not to laugh, but it was seriously cracking me up. Where does she learn this stuff?? Her brother probably. If it's not one thing it's another right? Life according to beets. Lets be Up Beet!
Miles is a genius. He started drumming on the drum with the drumstick all by himself. Smarty pants.
Teeth brushing and entertaining ourselves in the kids room at the gym (which I was lame and skipped out on all week. My cough is finally letting up. maybe I'll go tomorrow. haha)
The hoodie kids making a Costco run.
Kevin spoke in church on Sunday. He did awesome. Thankful for Kevin and the faithful man he is. Also Calum told me his favorite book was the scriptures. Haha. Cutie
Spider Boy and Spider Girl
We got school pictures back. Last year and this year. I can't believe how fast this kid is growing up. This year he learned to write letters, numbers and draw pictures (not just scribble). We are still working on all the reading and writing stuff but this kid is dang smart. He can rattle of facts about just about anything and has been asking a lot of deep questions lately. He is a sensitive little soul. His emotions range from sweet, tear-filled, sincere concern for things to insane hysterical meltdowns. He definitely wears his emotions on his sleeve. But really I just love him so much. He really is so sweet. It is so fun watching him learn and grown and figure out the world. I cannot believe he goes to kindergarten next year! But hallelujah, because three kids at home all day is crazy!!
It goes too fast. #staylittle! Ailee is definitely more naughty and defiant than she was this time last year. We definitely hit some milestones. She wasn't really talking yet and now she can talk your ear off like she was 15. I often forget she's only two because she talks and acts like she's so old. Also she is now fully potty trained!! I love her hugs and snuggles and of course her dance moves. Heck of a year #littlemissailee you're the cutest!
Calum had his preschool program and graduation. He belted the songs and picked his nose. Great job buddy! We have loved Miss Laura and Miss Emily. Kindergarten here we come.
Calum's been all about hideouts since watching Dennis the Menace and Little Rascals. He's been begging us to make him a hideout (Remember the blanket hideout?). Sunday he drew up some plans. Kevin brought home some lumber yesterday and they spent all evening building this little beauty. Today they wanted to paint it. They are pretty pumped. Oh the joy two pieces of plywood can bring.
When Calum has his meltdowns lately I've just been sending him to his room to chill out. Sometimes he falls asleep. (being overtired is probably the cause for the meltdown.) The other day thought Calum was playing upstairs and I went to lay Miles down in his room. Miles had just broken my glasses so I couldn't see super well. I laid Miles in his crib, turned around and abruptly stopped because Calum was dead asleep on the floor. I totally didn't see him and almost stepped right on him. Haha. Crazy kid. We have a fun trip planned for next week, we haven't told the kids yet and we are getting so excited!! So next blog post should be a good one. Stay tuned :)
