So Calum has never been the greatest sleeper. Lately, whenever he naps he goes to bed at 10:30 or 11! It's crazy. So we've been trying to cut his naps out so he goes to bed at a decent hour. Which kind of works, but he wakes up in the middle of the night more. The other night I found him in the living room eating Ritz crackers, with all of the lights on. But he usually ends up crashing in the middle of the day. He will go lay down all by himself, he even put some jammies on the other day. Haha. We've been struggling. I think I just need to wake him up earlier in the morning, keep letting him nap, but then maybe he will go to bed earlier?? Who knows. It's always something. Hopefully we'll get it figured out.
I just want to get him on a schedule before I attempt to have Ailee and him share a room. Which probably should be soon because Ailee's getting a little big for her bassinet.
Kevin had a conference downtown this week which was nice because he road the train, which meant I had a car this week :)
We did retrieve Mahana from the mountains, and are working on selling her AS IS. If anyone is interested :) She's a beaut!
So we got to get out of the house a little bit. Met some of our friends at the park. Calum was pretty pumped to enjoy the nice day. There was still snow on the ground so of course Calum decided he needed to make snow angels, eat the dirty snow and pee to make "letters" in the snow.
What I lug up and down three flights of stairs everyday! Sometimes Calum is to lazy to walk and gets thrown into the mix too.
We also made a trip to Target. Calum decided to run off and get lost. There were all sorts of moms and grandma's looking for him, we alerted the employees and someone spotted him at the other end of the store, and then had to chase him down to get him. She also told me that for some reason he was all wet, I assured her that it was just from him rolling in the snow at the park. So as always, it was an adventure! Target sure does have cute stuff though :)
We got into the Valentines spirit over here. I got some window clings that I thought Calum would like. I was right! He stuck them all cute on the window.
And about 5 minutes later, he had ripped them all in half... Not exactly what I'd pictured :)
We (I) also made some fun Valentines for Grandma and our cousins on missions.
I apparently didn't put enough postage on them and they got returned, so Grandma's you should get them soon :)
Ailee turned 6 months old! She's 17 lbs 10 oz (85th percentile) and is 75th for her head and height.
Poor girl had to get shots on Valentines day. She was pretty tough about it though. And she really liked ripping up the paper on the table.
Kevin told me we were going out and that I had to wear these...
We went and saw Josh Gracin at the Grizzly Rose and got to do a little country dancing :) It was a super fun night. We got some good video, but I still haven't figured out whats up with that. One of these days...
I joked with my girlfriends that all we really wanted for Valentines day was someone to clean the toilets for us.... Haha. Kevin's sure knows the way to my heart. Clean toilets and country dancing! I loved having an excuse to wear my cowboy boots!
All in all we had a good Valentines week. Calum is as goofy as ever. He likes wearing Kevin's clothes.
Cowboy boots included. He put them on and started asking "Where's my horse mom?" And yes, that is playdough in his ear!
He really likes Ailee these days and is sure to help her out. He was helping roll her over, I was in the kitchen and I heard him saying "Ailee rolled over mom! She rolled over!" As he's rolling her across the floor. Awesome. He also shared his sucker with her the other day and told me that "She likes it." Now her foods she's tried include, rice cereal, squash and ring pops. Haha. I can't leave them alone. Somehow she ended up with Calum's silly putty today. She was licking it. Definitely need to keep a better eye on these two hoodlums.
I can't believe she is 6 months! She is getting too big too fast! She is not a fan of solid foods. She gags on the cereal and the squash and makes a face like she is so grossed out. Haha. She is pretty dang cute. So glad we have her in our lives.
Everytime she starts to smile and get excited her hands go right to her mouth. Haha.
These months have flown by, I want time to slow down so I can make sure I don't miss a moment.... Like this moment Calum captured of me... Looking good as ever holding a poopy diaper and a soiled onesie. I especially want to remember this. Haha. Got to love motherhood :)
